The purpose of this paper is to analyze the social consequences of digital inequality in Ukrainian society in the context of globalization. The article examines the main causes and negative consequences of the digital divide that affect various aspects of social life, including education, the labor market, economic development, and social mobility. Various scientific methods were used to achieve the research goal. In particular, a critical analysis of scientific sources was conducted to assess existing approaches and theoretical foundations of the problem. To organize and present information, the method of tables was used, which allows for a clear structure of the material. The use of the method of scientific abstraction helped to formulate the main conclusions and summarize the results. The study finds that digital inequality is a complex and multidimensional phenomenon that is exacerbated by unequal access to information and communication technologies (hereinafter – ICT). It is proved that the digital divide is closely related to the level of poverty, since limited access to digital technologies makes it impossible for citizens to fully participate in the modern economy and social life. Particular attention is paid to the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the COVID-19 pandemic, which have significantly accelerated the digital transformation of society, while exacerbating the problem of the digital divide. The main factors in overcoming digital inequality are the introduction of e-government, the expansion of online learning opportunities, especially among young people, and the development of national strategies to ensure equal access to broadband Internet, including LTE (4G) and promising 5G technologies. The Government of Ukraine should actively develop and implement digital inclusion programs, including digital skills training, support for accessible e-services, and the creation of an appropriate regulatory environment. The conclusions emphasize the need to expand opportunities to use ICTs, overcome digital barriers, and ensure equal opportunities for all citizens in the digital age. Prospects for further research may include the development of digital inclusion strategies for vulnerable populations and the assessment of the long-term economic effects of digital integration in various sectors of the economy.
