Integration of logical methods and argumentative strategies in scientific discourse

The relevance of the topic is determined by the need to improve the quality of scientific thinking and academic writing in the context of information overload and increasing requirements for the evidential validity of scientific results. The integration of logical methods with effective argumentative strategies contributes not only to the structural organization of scientific texts but also ensures their persuasiveness, coherence, and methodological transparency. Purpose. The purpose of this article is to systematize the epistemological aspects of the integration of logical methods and argumentation strategies in scientific discourse and to substantiate their practical role in ensuring the quality of scientific inquiry. Methodology. The methodological framework of the study is based on general scientific and specialized methods, including analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, comparative and systemic approaches, as well as elements of discourse analysis. The application of these methods made it possible to comprehensively examine the interrelation between logical and argumentative components within the structure of scientific cognition. Results. The theoretical and epistemological foundations of scientific discourse have been substantiated. The essence of logical methods (analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, and abduction) has been defined as a tool for structuring scientific thinking, while the typology of argumentative strategies (rational, rhetorical, and dialogical) has been revealed as a communicative representation of knowledge. The mechanisms of integrating logical and argumentative components have been analyzed, particularly structural-logical, discursive-communicative, epistemological, cognitive, and intersubjective mechanisms. The criteria for effective argumentation and the development of critical thinking have been outlined. Conclusions. The obtained results expand the theoretical understanding of the interrelation between logical methods and argumentative strategies as factors in the formation of scientific knowledge. Such an approach contributes to the effectiveness of scientific cognition, which depends on adherence to epistemological criteria of argumentation, namely truthfulness, validity, logical consistency, and relevance. It has been proven that the integration of logical methods and argumentative strategies is a key condition for improving the quality of scientific discourse. The practical significance of the study is associated with the possibility of applying the obtained results in academic writing and in the preparation of scientific research.
