Paradigms of intercultural dialogue in the context of value fragmentation in the globalized world

Abstract

The increasing relevance of intercultural interaction in the contemporary world is driven by deepening value differentiation, the multiplicity of identities, the competition of normative frameworks, and growing communicative tensions. While globalization intensifies cross-cultural contacts, it does not ensure the unification of meaning systems, leading instead to the fragmentation of the socio-cultural space. Existing approaches demonstrate limited capacity to adequately interpret the dynamics of contemporary challenges, necessitating their systematization and integration. The objective of the article is to provide a theoretical substantiation of the paradigms of intercultural interaction and to develop an algorithm for its effective organization in the context of value fragmentation in the globalized socio-cultural space. Methods. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study combines systemic, comparative, and structural-functional approaches with elements of discourse analysis, enabling the exploration of transformational features of communicative practices and their analytical generalization through interpretative models. Results. The study systematizes the key paradigms of intercultural interaction and identifies their conceptual differences, limitations, and heuristic potential. It is established that value fragmentation exerts a complex and ambivalent influence on communicative processes, simultaneously expanding and complicating them. The relevance of an integrative approach is substantiated by its ability to ensure adaptable interactions under conditions of variability in value orientations. A step-by-step model for organizing intercultural dialogue is proposed to reduce conflict and enhance mutual understanding. Conclusions. The effectiveness of interaction in a fragmented environment depends on the ability to account for the multiplicity of value positions and the contextual specificity of communication. Justifying the expediency of combining theoretical-methodological analysis with applied modeling enhances the practical relevance of research findings in the field of intercultural interaction, creating opportunities for the further institutionalization of effective communicative practices in diverse sociocultural environments. The results of the study can be applied to the development of practical models for regulating communicative processes in multiethnic and multicultural environments, as well as for improving strategies of intercultural interaction under conditions of global transformations.
