The intensification of digital technologies in the humanities requires a significant update of the methods of teaching historical disciplines, in particular through the active implementation of data visualization tools. In the modern educational process, the need for such forms of presentation of historical information, which ensure its clarity, structure and analytical accessibility for those seeking education, is being actualized. The purpose of the study is the theoretical justification and practical analysis of innovative approaches to the visualization of historical data in the process of teaching the events of 1917–1921, as well as determining their didactic potential for increasing the effectiveness of historical education. Methods. The work uses an interdisciplinary approach that combines methods of historical analysis, pedagogical modeling, content analysis of educational materials, as well as elements of digital humanitarianism. A comparative method was used to compare traditional and digital ways of presenting historical data. Results. It has been established that the use of visualization of historical data significantly increases the level of assimilation of educational material, contributes to the formation of a systemic vision of events and the development of analytical thinking of students. Visual tools enable the representation of the events of 1917–1921 as a dynamic process with clearly defined chronological, spatial and socio-political connections. Combined forms of visualization that integrate cartographic, chronological and statistical data into a single analytical system have been found to be the most effective. Conclusions. Innovative approaches to the visualization of historical data are an important factor in the modernization of historical education. They do not replace traditional teaching methods, but complement them, providing a deeper understanding of complex historical processes. Further implementation of digital platforms and interactive learning environments that integrate large arrays of historical data into the educational process is promising. This will improve the quality of historical education and develop students' digital competence.
