Deputies that were landowners from Ukrainian provinges and their activity concerning resolution of the agrarian issue in the second State Duma of the Russian empire (1907)

Agrarian issue in Ukraine constantly causes substantial interest among researchers taking into consideration that it was and remains one of the main sectors of economic development of our country. Studying this issue helps us understand cause and effect nature of processes, such as reproduction of population, impact of wars, migrations, socio-economic and cultural changes and other factors that make an impact on structure of society.
Russian full-scale invasion escalated lots of internal political issues in Ukraine. One of it is the difference in vision of the future development of the state by higher and lower social strata. In order to eliminate these disparities that weaken our state in struggle against Russian aggression we need historical parallels. Learning conflicts between higher and lower social strata in the beginning of the twentieth century we can analyze the ways of their resolution and possibility of usage at the modern stage. It will enable making correct conclusions and forecast future.
The article analyzes complex transformations that happened on the territory of the Russian empire and Ukrainian lands at the beginning of the twentieth century that were a part of it. The author made an emphasis on main stages of activity of Ukrainian land-owning elite on protection of their class privileges. Analysis of shortsighted policy of big landowners on the territory of Ukraine concerning limitation of rights and freedoms of peasantry that led to a number of issues during the process of national state-building was also considered.
