The digitalization of the educational space necessitates the transformation of history teaching methodologies in higher education institutions. The integration of digital resources, visualization tools, and collaborative platforms fosters the development of students’ analytical thinking, oriented toward source interpretation, identification of cause-and-effect relationships, and information analysis. The aim of the article is to substantiate the potential of digitalization in historical education as a factor in the development of students’ analytical thinking and to determine the pedagogical conditions for the effective use of digital tools in the educational process. The study employed a set of general scientific and specialized methods, including analysis and synthesis of scholarly literature, systematization of approaches to digital learning, comparative analysis of educational practices, pedagogical observation, generalization of students’ learning outcomes, and elements of content analysis of digital educational materials. The findings indicate that the combined use of digital archives, interactive maps, cloud-based environments, and data visualization tools enhances the level of analytical operations, interpretation, and argumentation. A didactic model for the use of digital resources is substantiated, encompassing problem-oriented tasks, work with diverse types of historical sources, modeling of historical processes, and reflective assessment. It has been established that the systematic application of digital tools contributes to improved logical coherence of reasoning, stronger evidence-based conclusions, and greater independence in students’ judgments. The conclusions emphasize that the digitalization of historical education constitutes an effective pedagogical factor in fostering analytical thinking, provided that resources are selected methodically, learning activities are organized in stages, and objectives, content, and assessment are coherently aligned. The results confirm the expediency of integrating digital tools into the structure of historical training and outline directions for further empirical research on the effectiveness of digital educational practices.
