New spirituality in the worldview dimension of metamodern

Abstract

The aim of the article is to philosophically substantiate the concept of New Spirituality as an autonomous postsecular form of spiritual experience in the worldview dimension of metamodern. The objectives of the article are to determine the methodological specificity of metamodern in terms of the analysis of spirituality, to outline the key features of New Spirituality as a sociocultural and philosophical phenomenon, and to expound the role of the “subjective turn” in the formation of modern spiritual searches.

The methodological basis is an integrative approach that combines the philosophy of culture, the phenomenology of consciousness, philosophical anthropology and ontological concepts relevant to the metamodern worldview paradigm. The categories of “oscillation” and “atopicity” are used to describe the dynamics between the modern and postmodern way of thinking. Elements of historical-philosophical and discursive analysis are applied to reconstruct the concept of “New Spirituality” within the New Age movement and postsecular humanitarian knowledge.

The scientific novelty of the study lies in the philosophical substantiation of the concept of New Spirituality as an autonomous transdisciplinary and integral form of spiritual experience within the post-secular dimension of metamodern, which functions on the principles of oscillation, atopicity an, return of transcendence and is characterized by a “subjective turn” that contains the potential for human self-reconstruction on the path toward holonomic unity of solidaristic consciousness. It is shown that New Spirituality is not only a derivative of New Age, but acts as a integral paradigm of spirituality, rejecting institutional structures in favor of autonomous experience and inner authenticity. It is established that metamodern creates conditions for transdisciplinary interaction of philosophy of consciousness, religious studies, esoteriology, contributing to the return of transcendence to the postsecular context. It is proved that the “subjective turn” becomes a key mode of New Spirituality, in which inner experience acts as the highest criterion of truth. The risks of excessive subjectivism, ethical relativism and extra-institutional blurring are shown.

New Spirituality in the worldview dimension of metamodern is formed as an oscillatory, atopic and transdisciplinary movement that seeks to overcome the crisis of meaning and return the metaphysical dimension of reality lost in modern rationalism and postmodern skepticism. New spirituality appears as an evolutionary stage of spiritual development, focused on the holistic person and the experience of authenticity, at the center of which is the subjective spiritual search and the desire for holonomic unity with the universe.
