Digital civilization as an environment of new types of alienation: a socio-philosophical analysis

Abstract

The article examines the features of human existence in a digital society and characterizes the impact of modern digitalization processes on new types and forms of alienation. The present requires a deep understanding of the

phenomenon of alienation in the digital society, in the context of the spread of social, cultural, political, and economic principles of digital civilization. The purpose of the article is a socio-philosophical analysis of the phenomenon of digital civilization and its impact on the emergence of new types of alienation. The research methodology is based on the principles of worldview and methodological pluralism, comprehensiveness of the study of the multifaceted phenomenon of alienation in the conditions of digital civilization; on the principles of historicism, complexity, objectivity, concreteness, systematicity and determinism. General scientific, interdisciplinary and concrete scientific methods are also used. Conclusions and prospects for further research. The digitalization of social life not only changes forms of communication and work, but also leads to the emergence of new types of alienation. A correlation has been proven between addiction to the digital world and a decrease in social communication, which causes deepening alienation. Digital civilization forms a specific environment characterized by a decrease in direct interpersonal communication, increased loneliness, excessive consumption of goods and services, and as a result, a person's alienation not only from others, but also from himself. Therefore, alienation loses the signs of external coercion and acquires the character of an internally accepted norm. Digital civilization branches out the structure of alienation every year, clearly demonstrating the intertwining of technological and human existence, which directly affects the existence of humanity in general and humans in particular. Virtual alienation has become most widespread in the context of digitalization, when the Internet, social networks, etc. have become extremely popular. It is argued that alienation in the era of digitalization is taking on new forms that will have consequences for future generations. Since it is impossible to completely overcome alienation in a digital society, it is necessary to try to eliminate its most negative aspects, overcome indifference to each other, find a place for direct communication between people, develop self-awareness, and fill your life with meaning and aspirations that can be realized in real life.
