Dialogue as a form of social ontology in the philosophy of communication

Abstract

This study aims to analyze dialogue as a fundamental element of social ontology within the framework of the philosophy of communication, to determine its ontological status, its significance for shaping social reality, as well as its practical potential for overcoming communicative barriers, developing models of social interaction, and fostering resilient social practices in contemporary society. The study employs a comprehensive methodological approach that combines theoretical analysis, comparative evaluation of classical and contemporary philosophical sources, review of interdisciplinary approaches, and conceptual modeling of social communication processes and their impact on practical spheres of activity. The results demonstrate that dialogue functions as a multidimensional mechanism, integrating cognitive, evaluative, conative, and pragmatic components, thereby ensuring the effective exchange of meanings, ethical coordination, conscious interaction, and collective decision-making. It is established that the practical application of dialogical principles contributes to enhancing mutual understanding, fostering tolerance, strengthening social cohesion, and developing adaptive strategies in complex organizational, interpersonal, and intercultural contexts, while also stimulating constructive conflict resolution. The study emphasizes that dialogue promotes the development of participants’ reflexive competencies, enabling them to critically reconsider their personal assumptions, consider alternative perspectives, generate shared meanings, and jointly construct communicative models to achieve effective outcomes. Moreover, the findings indicate that implementing the dialogical paradigm in educational, organizational, and managerial practices ensures the overcoming of communicative barriers, optimization of social interaction, and supports the formation of adaptive and resilient social systems. Thus, dialogue is not only a theoretical category but also a practical instrument that significantly influences social processes, ethical responsibility, cognitive and cultural enrichment, as well as the stability of communication practices in contemporary globalized society.
