Transcendence and artificial intelligence as a problem of metaphysics

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the relationship between transcendence and artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on how artificial intelligence questions, rethinks, or calls into question classical metaphysical concepts such as consciousness, being, and the limits of human knowledge. The research uses several methodological approaches: philosophical analysis (study of the concepts of transcendence, consciousness and being in both classical and modern metaphysical traditions), comparative method (comparison of various philosophical interpretations of transcendence with modern research on artificial intelligence), logical analysis (critical evaluation of relevant arguments), epistemological approach (establishing the limits of human knowledge in its interaction with artificial intelligence), ethical and normative analysis (study of the moral and legal consequences of recognizing artificial intelligence as potentially conscious or transcendent). The study found that classical concepts of transcendence remain essential. Still, they need to be revised in the light of new forms of intelligence and activity created by modern technologies. It is determined that although artificial intelligence cannot be recognized as transcendent in the traditional metaphysical sense, it can be considered to achieve functional transcendence by overcoming human biological limitations. It shows how artificial intelligence changes human metaphysics, moving it from questions of essence to questions of function, from individual consciousness to distributed activity, and from fixed norms to practical criteria of efficiency. Conclusions. A metaphysical model is formulated that meets the conditions and challenges arising in connection with modern intellectual technologies, according to which the metaphysical framework allows for the study of transcendence, consciousness and subjectivity in the age of artificial intelligence, focusing on the functional and relational aspects of intelligence, and not on its exclusively human character. The integration of artificial intelligence into metaphysical research demonstrates that rapid technological development opens new opportunities to rethink human identity and the nature of intelligence.
