Literature research methodology refers to the systematic approach employed by scholars and researchers to study literary texts and the broader field of literature. This methodology helps to organize, interpret, and analyze literary works, their contexts, and meanings [Maynard, 2009]. Researchers in literary studies apply various strategies depending on the type of research, the nature of the texts, and the desired outcomes. There are certain main steps and approaches involved in literature research methodology. In short, we can say that literary research methodology is a multifaceted process that involves a combination of theoretical frameworks, close reading, historical analysis, and critical thinking. By following a systematic approach, researchers can gain deep insights into literature, uncover new interpretations, understand historical contexts, and contribute to ongoing scholarly conversations. Each methodology has its strengths and is chosen based on the specific goals and nature of the research. Hence, the purpose of this article is to reveal different scientific tools for analyzing literary texts. The evolution of literature mirrors the complexities of human history, with classical texts laying the groundwork for the diverse genres and forms that define modern literary landscapes. As literary eras and trends shift, they bring with them new themes, styles and motifs, often reflecting broader societal transformations. The study of literary genres and their transformations highlights how literature adapts to changing audiences and contexts, serving as both a mirror and a critique of the world. Moreover, the interdisciplinary nature of literature enriches its study, allowing connections with fields such as history, psychology, philosophy, linguistics, and the arts [Brophy, 1998]. This interconnectedness enhances our understanding of texts as living entities, influenced by and influencing the societies from which they emerge. Central to this discourse are key concepts such as theme, plot, motif, style, and intertextuality, which serve as the building blocks of literary analysis.
